Internationella utskottet and Master Club
ELIN’s International Committee aims to promote the association’s integration with other cultures and countries. We plan and arrange events, trips, and mingles that will help our members with all that international exchanges have to offer. Read more about what we do below!
Europe business trip
The Europe business trip is a student trip to one of the financial and commercial centers in Europe, that consists of company visits and valuable experiences both regarding city visits, the travel company, and the possibility of work contacts for the future!
Study abroad lectures – the event is held in Swedish
We arrange lectures with Blueberry College & Universitet and Kilroy to give the economic students inspiration and help them find their dream destination and university to choose for their studies abroad.
Utlandspanelen – the event is held in Swedish
Utlandspanelen is an event where previous exchange students give a presentation on their stay and studies in another country. They bring photos and share their experiences with the students interested in studies abroad. What the event mainly does is inspire and bring the next exchange student one step closer to their dream destination!
The speakers from last year´s utlandspanel had been to Hong Kong, Australia, Borneo, France, Argentina, Mexico, and the USA for their exchange studies.
Utlandsmingel – the event is held in Swedish
On Utlandsminglet previous and future exchange students gather in Gasquen where E-pub provides some good food and drinks. The guests have the chance to ask all the potential questions there are about exchange studies and about specific destinations, and the speakers are happy to share tips on both practical stuff and on their favorite places to go in the city!
Play for charity
Play for Charity is a day-long sports tournament with the aim to raise money for charity. The students can join in different ways to raise more money, for example by buying a burger!
Language café is a collaboration between several student associations on LiU, where the students can grab a free coffee and klägg and mingle in the language they want to practice! The language café is held every second Thursday. Follow their Facebook page for time and place.
Usual languages spoken in the cafés are Swedish, English, Spanish, German, and French.

Subcommittee Master Club
The Master Club connects master’s students through networking activities in the welcoming period of each year and by arranging sittings in fall and spring. The main purpose is to offer social and professional advancement opportunities through diverse activities for all international students.
Some of the events held are Speed Friending, Welcome BBQ, short trips in the Linköping area and Networking Fika. These events are held usually at LiU or Creactive, the heart of Linköping’s Science Park.
The idea is to integrate mainly Business Administration students (juniors and seniors) and also students from other master’s degrees.

In Spring 2020 we will arrange a business trip to a European city. During the trip you will meet interesting companies, have social activities together and of course some free time to explore the city! The main purpose will be to give the members of ELIN the opportunity to experience both the business life and the social life in another European city.
The International Committee annually organizes a fun event in the spring where we raise money for a charity. We have sports competitions, eat hamburgers, drink some soda, juice or beer and play games in the sun. A simply fantastic charity event! Do not miss out and sign up for being a part of the Play for Charity experience.
The Language Café organizes language workshops every Thursday during lunch in T1 where LiU’s students get the chance to practice their French, English, Spanish, Italian or German. An ELIN-representative together with representatives from the M-section, Y-section, I-section and ESN host the language workshops. The Language Café helps people to get going and start talking with the help of various games and fun activities. Drop by for some fika and to meet new people!
ELIN’s International Committee has a strong focus on study and internships abroad and all other activities with an international touch. We help to convey information about the options and opportunities available. Therefore, we organize among other things guest lectures, the international panel and the utlandsmingel.
Utlandsmingel – at the beginning of each year, we organize a mingle evening where those who think about studying abroad get a chance to meet with students studying economics who already had their international semester. You will get answers to your questions and tips about the different exchange locations or generally about being an exchange student.
International panel –at the end of the year, we organize a get-together where we ask the important questions to students studying economics who have already done their study abroad experience. Based on their own experiences they talk about things that you should keep in mind before making your choice.
We are also working towards increased integration between international and Swedish students at LiU. By collaborating with our sister committee Master Club who organize multiple events, independently and together with other organizations at the university. The past year Master Club has organized Welcoming Days with barbecuing and fun games as well as two wonderful ‘’sittningar’’ where the international students get familiar with a traditional Swedish sittning.
At the moment the Master Club consists of four students from the SMIO master program. The President of Master Club is chief responsible for the committee. The member responsible for Marketing facilitates the spread of information for the committee. The project leader for Social Activities’ main responsibility is the organization of the sittningar, while the project leader for the Welcome Week organizes an introduction week for new SMIO students arriving in the fall. For the upcoming autumn semester the Master Club is planning another Welcome Week which will consist not only of an outside event, but also a Pub Crawl which is intended to help new international students experience the city. Moreover, the Master Club Fall Sittning will follow later on in the semester.
