Internationella Utskottet

ELINS’s International Committee aims to promote the association’s integration with other cultures and countries. With the help of guest lectures, international panel, language workshops, mingles and other fun stuff we want to share and help our members with all that international exchanges has to offer.

Play for charity

The International Committee annually organizes a fun event in the spring where we raise money for a charity. We have sports competitions, eat hamburgers, drink some soda, juice or beer and play games in the sun. A simply fantastic charity event! Do not miss out and sign up for being a part of the Play for Charity experience.

Language café

The Language Café organizes language workshops every Thursday during lunch in T1 where LiU’s students get the chance to practice their French, English, Spanish, Italian or German. An ELIN-representative together with representatives from the M-section, Y-section, I-section and ESN host the language workshops. The Language Café helps people to get going and start talking with the help of various games and fun activities. Drop by for some fika and to meet new people!

Study abroad - Guest lectures, mingles and international panel

ELIN’s International Committee has a strong focus on study and internships abroad and all other activities with an international touch. We help to convey information about the options and opportunities available. Therefore, we organize among other things guest lectures, the international panel and the utlandsmingel.

Utlandsmingel – at the beginning of each year, we organize a mingle evening where those who think about studying abroad get a chance to meet with students studying economics who already had their international semester.  You will get answers to your questions and tips about the different exchange locations or generally about being an exchange student.

International panel – We also organize an international panel at the end of the year, where we ask the important questions to students studying economics who have already done their study abroad experience. Based on their own experiences they talk about things that you should keep in mind before making your choice.

SMIO & Master Club

We’re also working towards increased integration between international and Swedish students at LiU. By collaborating with our sister committee Master Club who organize multiple events, independently and together with other organizations at the university. The past year Master Club has organized Welcoming Days with barbecuing and fun games as well as two wonderful ‘’sittningar’’ where the international students get to become familiar with a traditional Swedish sittning. At the moment the Master Club consists of four students from the master program SMIO. The President of Master Club is chief responsible for the committee. The members responsible for marketing facilitate the spread of information for the committee. The project leader for social activities’ main responsibilities are the sittningar and introduction week for new SMIO students arriving in the fall.
